Albuquerque, N.M. (March 28, 2006) -- VanDyke Software®, the developer of Secure
Shell solutions that balance strong security with ease of use, today announced the
official release of SecureCRT® 5.1 and SecureFX® 3.1. The new releases help
organizations comply with the NIST FIPS 140-2 regulations required by federal and
state government agencies, critical infrastructure suppliers like public utilities,
and companies doing business with these agencies. SecureCRT is the tool of choice
for network professionals around the world, combining a feature-filled terminal
emulator with the security of the Secure Shell (SSH) protocol. SecureFX is a
versatile file transfer application that supports SFTP using an encrypted SSH2
connection for secure transfers, or standard FTP for nonsecure transfers.

VanDyke Software has partnered with RSA Security, Inc. to use the BSAFE Crypto-C
Micro Edition cryptography module which has been tested by Atlan Laboratories, an
accredited testing laboratory for FIPS compliance. This module has met all Level 1
requirements for FIPS 140-2 compliance when operated in FIPS Mode, which permits
only FIPS-certified encryption algorithms to be used.

\"SecureCRT 5.1 and SecureFX 3.1 also include advanced authentication options and a
faster, easier way to establish multiple connections,\" said Maureen Jett, VanDyke
Software's Product Director. \"These new releases address the needs of our customers
in federal and state government and private sector companies who work with them who
need to comply with the FIPS 140-2 regulations.\"

\"We get e-mails and phone calls on an almost daily basis from customers who tell us
that they \'live\' in SecureCRT -- it is the first application they launch when they
turn on their PC and they keep it running all day long,\" Jett said. \"The new
features we\'ve delivered in these releases address security and usability
improvements suggested by our customers.\"
